Qwen-Image-2.1 access and license

Qwen-Image-2.1 combines text-to-image generation, image editing and native RGBA transparency. Its visual generation component has 7B parameters. Downloadable weights are available under a research license; commercial use requires a separate license. No hosted API rate is verified here.

What this release changes

One pipeline covers creation and editing, including transparent output. The model card supports up to ten reference images and edits guided by annotations or masks. The 7B figure describes the visual generation component; it is not a measurement of total GPU memory required to run the full pipeline.

This makes the release worth evaluating when a workflow needs reusable foreground assets or edits across several references. A smaller component count alone does not establish faster inference, lower serving cost or better output than another Qwen image version. We have not run a comparative benchmark.

Access, license and API availability

Weights are downloadable from Qwen's Hugging Face repository. The September 20 license restricts use to non-commercial purposes and requires a separate license for commercial use. Open-weight availability does not establish commercial permission.

No provider endpoint or price for this exact version has been verified in this directory. Do not substitute the price of Qwen-Image-3.0, or interpret an empty price table as free hosted inference. Check the exact model ID and service terms before budgeting a hosted integration.

A useful evaluation before integration

Start with three representative tasks: a transparent asset, a product edit that must preserve identity, and an edit using several references. Inspect the alpha channel by compositing the result onto both light and dark backgrounds. Score edge quality, identity changes and unintended edits separately.

Use the official pipeline instructions and CPU offload option where needed. Record the hardware, precision, output size, inference steps, elapsed time and peak memory for every run. These are proposed checks, not results from a test performed by this site.

Generation pricing by configuration

Match the model version, resolution, region and billing unit before comparing rates. Input references may incur additional charges, as noted in each row.

No current verified API price is listed. Refer to the official documentation for availability and billing; an empty price table does not mean the model is free.

These are documented provider rates, not measured generation costs or a quality benchmark. Currency is shown as billed. No exchange-rate conversion is applied.

Access and generation workflow

Consult the official model documentation for supported deployment options. No hosted endpoint or API rate is verified on this page. For open-weight models, follow the model card's hardware requirements and license terms before self-hosting.

Check account eligibility, service region and payment requirements with the selected provider. Listing a model here does not guarantee access from every country.
